Reading shouldn't feel like a chore.
With recent surveys sadly revealing that less than a third of children aged 8-18 years old enjoy reading in their spare time, our boxes are here to put the joy and excitement back into reading. The Paper Compass was created because we remember the magic of getting lost in stories — and we want today’s children to experience that same magic.
What's in the Box?
Each month your box will be created around an exciting new theme and will include:
- A carefully selected children's book.
- Engaging, screen-free activities inspired by the story.
- Extras that encourage immersion and connection.
- A parent guide with helpful tips to support reading at home.
- Flexibility - read together or independently, and dip into activities at your own pace. There's no right way, only your child's way.
Why 5-7 Years?
Between five and seven is a crucial age in a child's reading journey, with many children now beginning to form their relationship with reading. Some are just gaining confidence, whilst others are reading independently, and many are somewhere in between.
"But what if my child is older/younger?"
Not to worry! We're starting small to ensure your boxes are created with the thoughtfulness and attention that they deserve, but rest assured that every young reader is important to us and we'll be launching boxes for more age groups soon.
